Redefining Luxury
Tembo Plains is suffused with classic explorer atmosphere where luxury is found not in just small touches but rather in every detail, as is suggested by the camp’s affiliation with the prestigious Relais and Chateaux, an exclusive international association of luxury hotels and restaurants of which Tembo Plains is the only Zimbabwean member.
Throughout the construction combines built and tented elements, with the resulting décor a distinctive mix of stone, dark wood, and canvas. A luxurious dining and bar area opens onto a large wooden deck that was constructed around the trees that still protrude through it and features loungers and a plunge pool.
Sapi Private Reserve - Mana Pools
Tembo Plains Camp sits within Sapi Private Reserve, a photographic reserve that lies alongside a World Heritage Site, Mana Pools National Park. Established by Great Plains as part of their mission to convert vast tracts of Africa into pure conservation land. Painted dogs (wild dogs), lions and leopards are seen increasingly whilst buffalo, and of course, elephants, which are often seen daily in front of the camp.
