Savute Safari Lodge is a luxury lodge situated on the banks of the Savute River channel in Chobe National Park, Botswana. The lodge offers accommodation for up to 24 guests, with magnificent views of the Savute Channel, great game viewing and birding all year round.

The main lounge, bar and library areas are housed in a magnificent timber building with a thatched roof. The lodge features a wooden viewing deck that looks out over the Savute channel visited by various wild animals. Guests can enjoy alfresco dining and lounge by the swimming pool, which is ideally located for watching wildlife at the local waterhole.

Savute Channel

Breathlessly captivating, this corner of Botswana has long been associated with the world’s greatest explorers, including David Livingstone. At times flowing and other times dry, the channel forms part of a rich ecosystem renowned for its large concentrations of elephant, spotted hyena and lion – the latter two often being in brutal conflict over kills and territory – and the region is one of Botswana’s premier game-viewing destinations.

Panoramic Views

11 elegantly furnished thatch-and-glass chalets, each featuring a combined lounge and bedroom area, with en-suite facilities, overhead fan and a private viewing deck. The expansive glass sliding doors amplify the beauty of the panoramic views from each chalet. The doorways are covered by insect screens, and the beds by mosquito netting.

Dramatic Game Viewing

Savute boasts the second-largest summer Zebra migration in Africa; its timing is determined by the rains, but usually occurs between November and December and again between February and April. The migration is always followed by large numbers of predators. The region animal highlights are concentrations of lion and hyena, as well as leopard, cheetah, black-backed jackal and many lone elephant bulls.
