The hotel is at the centre of Beau Vallon Bay, Seychelles’s best swimming beach. Numerous restaurants nearby as well as a choice of diving centres and cafés mean a hire car is not needed. The capital, Victoria, is only a 10-minute taxi ride away and there are frequent local buses. The Savoy is an excellent base for anyone wanting to get to know the main island of Mahé.

ELEGANTLY APPOINTED

LANDSCAPED GARDENS

Neutral colours give the bedrooms a cool, contemporary feel, with high standard finishes – and all come with rain showers, bath and twin sinks. Suites are generous with small kitchenettes. Balconies are standard, with the best views over the gardens looking towards the beach. Higher rooms have sea views, while ‘mountain view’ rooms look inland towards the dramatic peak of Le Niol. Avoid mountain view rooms on the hotel lobby side of the property as they look out mostly over the car park.

VARIETY FOR YOUNG & OLD

The Savoy’s Gekko Bar is popular with non-residents and is just a few feet from the Beau Vallon promenade. The pool area dominates the landscaped gardens and there are also reserved loungers on Beau Vallon beach itself with snack and drink service available from the hotel for guests. The Savoy Spa offers Ayurvedic and Swedish massage treatments with several couples options. Restaurant and bar staff are cheerful, though sometimes there are too few on duty in the main restaurant at peak times.
