Ossimba Beach Lodge is an Eco-Lodge that offers a rare and exciting combination of comfort, relaxation, tranquility and sustainability. Private villas offer a comforting respite from a day spent rejuvenating on the beach or exploring the surrounding ocean, mangroves or forests.

Ossimba Beach Lodge strives to preserve and respect its natural environment wherever possible. For this reason, the lodge is solar powered and makes use of its own bore hole water. The beach and surrounding perimeters of the lodge are guarded 24/7 for guests’ safety and peace of mind.

Nacala

There is only one tarmac road leading to Nampula, where a small airport is located. Off this, rutted sandy tracks lead to remote villages where the Macua people live from subsistence farming. The coast is unspoilt with miles of sandy beaches backed by mangroves and subtropical bush. Offshore there are as yet un-dived reefs and shipwrecks underneath the sea. Whales migrate through the area from July to September and dolphins are frequently seen. There are three main areas in this region to explore — the Ilha de Moçambique, La Veranda Nature Reserve and the Baixo do Pinda Peninsula.

RELAXED & REJUVENATED

Situated directly in front of the lodge, approximately 300m offshore and stretching for 1.5 km, The house reef extends the entire length of the lodge boundaries and has been formalized as a National Marine Reserve. For the past ten years the reef has been left to nature only. Spacious in size, our thatch-roofed villas at Ossimba Beach offer 2 x units perfect for a couple and 2 x family units. Each villa is situated in such a way that one feels isolated and totally surrounded by nature. Villas have quick and easy access to the main lounge, dining room and bar should guests want to pop out for a drink or meal. All villas come standard with the comforts required for a pleasurable stay. Villas are situated at least 15 meters apart from each other to ensure the privacy of all guests staying at Ossimba Beach Lodge.

The reserve offers fantastic snorkelling and scuba diving, which allows one to experience the coral reef environment in all its colour, uniqueness and beauty, whilst offering its inhabitants a place of refuge and relative safety. Northern Mozambique’s climate (14 degrees south of the Equator) is warm and tropical virtually throughout the year. The dry season occurs during Mozambique’s winter. This is generally the best time to visit Mozambique, with warm hot days and cool evenings.
