Nkomazi Game Reserve in Mpumalanga is surrounded by mountains, highveld and riverine valleys. Reaching into the south-west over 15 000 hectares, this is just the place to tune back into nature. It’s a well-run camp, with top-notch service and a professional, attentive team, but first, let’s talk about the accommodation itself. The “tents” guests stay in are the most luxurious you will ever set eyes on. Some call it glamping, we call it exactly what a safari experience should look and feel like. Think sturdy canvas walls, timber framings and furnishings that look right off the set of “Out of Africa”.

LUXURY TENTED LODGE

AUTHENTICITY & COMFORT

The camp has 14 glamping tents, each furnished in an “Out of Africa” style with all the comforts of luxury accommodation. The tents blend into the natural landscape and are linked by stoned pathways through the bush. The six Deluxe Tents are framed by nature, offering panoramic views of the reserve. They are well appointed, comfortable and spacious, at an average of 40 m² each. These tents sleep a maximum of two adults.

THE BEAUTIFUL BUSHVELD

Bask in the magnificent surroundings while out on an adventure or simply unwind on your private deck with a book. It’s up to you. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included at Nkomazi, and are served in the dining tent or in the outdoor boma area depending on the weather. Guests at Nkomazi can relax in the shared lounge tent, offering a large viewing deck. The property also has a gift boutique, as well as a relaxation retreat. Two game drives per day are included in the rates at Nkomazi, and occur at sunrise and sunset. Other activities available at the lodge include bird-watching, fly-fishing, and star-gazing.
