Set in the Karoo, within the reserve, this 14 bedded lodge is situated along the tree line of a riverbed and protected by the surrounding mountains. The lodge is an eclectic celebration of the romance of Colonial Africa Lodge with a modern twist, and stylishly enhanced by the brilliance of chandeliers and silver. Elements of the traditional Lowveld lodge is evident in the viewing and pool decks and dinner boma, the detailing of which showcases the natural rock materials from the Karoo. Balinesian accents play off against Central African dome elements found in original African tribal dwellings. The Island-style lodgings are unexpected and complement the tree line along which they are situated. The gardens are Karoo gardens.

Montagu

This perfect getaway in the Langeberg, near the Robertson Wine Valley and not far from the Breede River Valley, takes some time to explore. Its accets are distinctly lodge bushveld but the feel is light and welcoming. Sleep in a comfortable extra length bed with 100 percent cotton percale white linen; enjoy the lounge sitting area in front of the fire in the cooler evenings or sit on the deck in a hanging chair amongst the trees. A dining area and kitchenette offer space to enjoy coffee, teas and wines or even indoor dining by arrangement with our resident chef. Lie back and relax with a glass of wine and a book in an exquisite candlelit bath enfolded in a basket weave dome, complete with candlelight, bubbles and bathsalts.
