Beautifully designed Thorntree River Lodge graces the banks of Zambia’s glorious Zambezi River in Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park. This lodge is a smaller and more refined venue, for maximum 14 guests exclusive use. The rate quoted is all-inclusive, with permission to bring your own wine without a corkage fee. Thorntree will also arrange an airport pick-up for all guests, included in this quotation.

This charming hotel lodge and spa offers an ideal location, just an easy Uber from Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport. Rate includes Full Board, with permission to bring our own wine. That means guests can charge additional drinks to their rooms.
With travels dates that align with the full moon in May 2024, we have a unique opportunity to witness a lunar rainbow over the already magical Victoria Falls!
What is a lunar rainbow?
Just like its day-time equivalent, the lunar rainbow or ‘moonbow’ is created as light is refracted through water particles in the air, but instead of the light source being the sun it is now the moon.
Every full moon, the Victoria Falls rainforest re-opens in the evening for special tours to witness the magic of the lunar rainbow -weather and spray permitting!
Victoria Falls is one of the few places on earth where this natural phenomenon occurs, and where it can be witnessed with relative ease.
We’ll get up close and personal with some of Africa’s most iconic animals with a game drive in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park. Our guide will help us spot some of Zambia’s most-loved species, including the endangered white rhino, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, giraffe, zebra and several antelope species.
We’ll continue our morning on a high, with a helicopter ride over the falls.
Flight of Angels
After take off the helicopter turns out towards the magnificent Victoria Falls, our pilot will fly left and right hand circuits over the Victoria Falls in both directions giving you the best viewing, photographic and filming opportunities. A trip up the Zambezi River and back over the Zambezi National Park completes your flight.
Rated Zambia’s best restaurant, the Elephant Café is a tented exclusive restaurant built on a wooden deck in the Zambezi River, upstream from Victoria Falls in Livingstone, Zambia. Boat transfer to the restaurant and enjoy a 3 course set menu lunch of African fusion food, created with wild and locally-sourced ingredients in the company of a herd of hand-reared elephants.
The Lady Livingstone will set sail at 5pm, with a late May sunset safely predicted for 6pm. This is an on-site, upmarket river cruiser, where guests want for nothing while on board.
This boat has a capacity for hotel guests over three decks, but our group will have exclusive use of the middle deck or top deck depending on our group size. Guests will have excellent game viewing opportunities throughout, and can expect a soul stirring African sunset.
