Breathtaking Landscapes

Set in the private 37 000 hectare (91 400 acre) Kulula Wilderness Reserve, Little Kulala features eleven thatched “kulalas” that merge impeccably into the timeless desert landscape. Each unit boasts exquisite fittings and fixtures, as well as an innovative bleach deck, each with a private plunge pool. A rooftop ‘skybed’ accessed by an internal staircase, is ideal for romantic stargazing.

The lodge’s elegant entertainment area offers a library, wine cellar, craft boutique, lounge and dining area, all set beneath thatch. Neutral colours, tactile textures and the careful use of natural light reproduce the soothing pastel tones of the desert. Cool, serene and sheltering, the lodge is a natural oasis in the midst of the stark desert beauty. Activities include early morning guided nature drives to Sossusvlei, as well as nature drives and walks in the private reserve.

Private Rooftop Skybeds

Starry Nights

Featuring 11 climate-controlled suites – each with its own plunge pool – honour the local geology, reflecting the surrounding grey and pink limestone in colour and texture. Guests are invited to take advantage of the night-sky on their own private rooftop “skybed”, where they can indulge in some romantic stargazing and sleep under the stars, should they wish.

UNIQUE DESERT ACTIVITIES

UNFORGETTABLE MOMENTS

Climb the 300-metre red dunes at Sossusvlei and gaze upon oceans of sand. Float above the world’s oldest desert in a hot air balloon, and see it come alive on nature walks, drives, e-bikes, or low-impact quad bikes. At dusk hear the call of barking geckos; at night go with a guide on a scorpion safari. Stargaze in one of the darkest places on Earth, and sleep out under the stars, contemplating space.
