Situated on the edge of the oxbow King’s Pool lagoon, this elegant luxury camp is set on the large and wildlife rich Linyanti private reserve in northern Botswana. The area is pristine and remote and particularly known for its impressive elephant and predator numbers. King’s Pool Camp was treated to a major renovation in the first half of 2019 and offers both water and land activities.

King’s Pool Camp is named after Swedish King Carl Gustav XVI, who honeymooned in the Linyanti in the 1970s. The camp has always had a traditional and elegant style- while the level of luxury has increased with every refurbishment, the classic design has stayed. The camp was rebuilt in 2019/20 and is looking lovelier than ever.

Linyanti Game Reserve

This plush camp is located on the 127 000-ha private Linyanti Game Reserve, bordering Chobe National Park – one of the most pristine and least-visited areas in all of Botswana. On the crux of the important wildlife corridor straddling Angola, Namibia, Zambia and Botswana. Such corridors are essential to promote viable, self-sustaining wildlife populations and reduce human-wildlife conflict.

TENTS AS IMPRESSSIVE AS THE SURROUNDINGS

UNINTERRUPTED VIEWS

Huge canvas tents with thatched roofs are raised on wooden platforms, complete with large decks, private pools, salas and sun loungers. The rooms themselves boast huge four poster beds, draped with mosquito netting and covered with soft linen. Lavish ensuite bathrooms have his-and-hers basins, as well as indoor and outdoor showers.

In addition to dawn, dusk and evening game drives in a roofless 4×4, guests at King’s Pool Camp can enjoy river cruises on the Victorian-inspired barge and seclude themselves in two different hides – one sunk below ground next to a waterhole – to get the best possible encounters with game.
