Clarens

Clarens is a small town situated in the foothills of the Maluti Mountains in the Free State province of South Africa and nicknamed the “Jewel of the Eastern Free State”. It was established in 1912 and named after the town of Clarens in Switzerland where exiled Paul Kruger spent his last days.

Located a 14-minute drive from Clarens, Kiara Lodge is set amongst the Maluti Mountains and offers a heated indoor pool, a spa and wellness centre and a children’s playground. The property is just next to the Golden Gate Highlands National Park. The apartments feature a balcony with BBQ facilities and a living room with a TV. There are 2 or 3 bedrooms, of which one has an en suite bathroom and the main bathroom includes a bathtub. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, microwave and stovetop.

Certain facilities carry a nominal charge for the use thereof; however, an “All Access Pass” may be purchased at check-in for all unit guests to enjoy use thereof during their stay.
