Great lovers of food, wine and design, a Dutch couple purchased this petite estate with its own vineyards, accommodation and extraordinary views in 2012 and turned it into a dream destination.  Designer furniture and original art by a selection of South African artists feature in all the rooms and around the lounge, bar and in the gardens.

With 7 rooms in the hotel and 6 villas on the estate, you have a number of options to select your perfect getaway from.  Enjoy the views, the wine and the peaceful and quiet that surrounds you.   Simonsberg makes the perfect backdrop to this world-class escape from the world.

Clouds Estate sits on one of the highest points of the Helshoogte pass, surrounded by the dramatic  Simonsberg and Drakenstein mountains. Clouds is one hour from Cape Town, 20 minutes from Franschhoek and only  45 minutes from Cape Town International airport. The region’s Mediterranean climate supports the cultivation of some of the world’s best wines.

Wine, Dine & Explore

Clouds is famous for its “Pink” Sauvignon Blanc. Its fruity aromas include kiwifruit and gooseberry flavours. The light yellow Sauvignon Blanc, with hints of granadilla, is a real crowd pleaser and the new Bordeaux style Red Blend, is equally enjoyable now but will mature beautifully over the next 5 years.

Venture into nature with helicopter flips over the winelands, biking trips along the Jonkershoek nature reserve trails and wine tasting on horseback. A drive to Cape Point along Kalkbaai, Simonstown and Muizenburg offers a lovely journey along the coast.
