Elandsberg Nature Reserve

Elandsberg is a Mountain and is located in the Swartland District, near Riebeeck Kasteel, in the Western Cape. The estimate terrain elevation above seal level is 2006 metres. The Elandsberg Nature Reserve was formally declared a provincial nature reserve in 2008 in recognition of its importance to conservation.

PRIVATE NATURE RESERVE

There is a long history of hospitality at Bartholomeus Klip, which shows in the friendly smiles that greet our guests and the relaxed atmosphere of the homestead. The Victorian-style main house was built in 1906, was renovated in 1996 and opened as a guesthouse in 1997. With 4 rooms in the house and 1 outside suite, there are only 10 guest staying at any time.

Having said that, plenty of our guests love to do nothing at all…

For those seeking quiet and calm, there are many little corners in our gardens, at the dam, around the pool or even in the nature reserve, to retreat in solitude. Some may try their hand at fishing, while others will watch birds, read a book or take a well-deserved nap. For others, seeking adventure and an elevated heartbeat, there is swimming and kayaking at the dam. The nature reserve and the farm roads around BK may be explored on a bicycle, on foot, or from the back of our open Land Rover – on one of our guided nature drives.
