Akagera National Park

Akagera has an inspiring conservation story and is now home to lions and rhinos. It is the only Big Five park in the country. Just two hours’ drive from Kigali, it is a beautiful and convenient savannah landscape to visit. The diversity of habitats is unique including lakes, marshes, savannah, mountains and woodland makes for spectacular scenery. Akagera offers an exceptional birding experience with more than 482 bird species documented including the rare and prehistoric looking shoebill.

UNIQUE EXPERIENCES

We have 13 rooms which are designed for the environmentally conscious, eco-adventure traveller, seeking intimate contact with the unique natural heritage of Akagera National Park and the local community. All units come with a balcony with garden views, a kitchen with a minibar, and a private bathroom with bidet. There is a seating and a dining area in all units.

We offer community cultural experiences and biking in the community around Akagera National Park. We work close to the community surrounding the lodge through hiring; sourcing of the lodge supplies and it was constructed in a way that does not disturb nature.
