The Hidden Gem

Satao Elerai Camp is the closest camp to the peaks of Kilimanjaro. It offers a combination of great views, good game-watching and access both to its own conservancy and to the national park. Resident elephants are often seen from camp, and are frequently heard trumpeting in the night, while the floodlit watering hole alongside the lodge attracts a variety of game, especially in the mornings.

At Satao Elerai you’ll enjoy a friendly welcome and truly delicious a la carte meals. On clear nights you can dine on the terrace under starry night skies and even see Kilimanjaro lit up by the moon. You could also spot animals at the camp waterhole or out on the plains. Groups can enjoy a memorable bush dinner at a special place in the Elerai wilderness.

Amboseli National Park

Satao Elerai Camp is located in a quiet, unspoilt, unique setting on a 5,000 acre private conservation area 12 km south east of Amboseli National Park at the foot of Africa’s largest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. The camp looks down onto the Amboseli National Park in one direction and up to Mount Kilimanjaro in the other direction, giving clients what is arguably the best location of any camp in Amboseli.

The camp currently has 12 mountain facing Deluxe Tents and 5 large Cottage Rooms. Both the Deluxe Tents and the cottage rooms have en-suite bathrooms whereby the cottage rooms also have luxurious baths in addition to the shower. The Cottage Rooms offer large sliding doors open out onto your own private verandah overlooking the plains below and Amboseli National Park. In the Deluxe Tents you can enjoy the ultimate Safari experience sleeping under canvas waking up to breathtaking views of Mt Kilimanjaro

One of the biggest advantages of Elerai Camp is that being located on its own private conservation area clients have the chance to view wildlife in private surroundings. In addition we also offer clients the chance to enjoy spectacular bush sundowners, night game drives and game walks on the conservancy, activities that are restricted or not available to the lodges located within the park.
