Committed To Conservation

Located at the foot of the Waterberg Mountains in South Africa’s Limpopo Province, Marataba Contractual National Park is a 21,000-hectare, privately-owned section of the Marakele National Park. It is one of the country’s most innovative conservation models and the perfect setting for a thoughtful, and completely flexible, safari experience.

EASY-GOING, ADVENTUROUS & FUN

LIVING IN THE WILD

Our two camps are Founders, and Explorers. From the intimate and serene setting of Founders to the relaxed, easygoing nature of Explorers, both offer a unique opportunity to enjoy the wild spaces of Marataba and spend time with family and friends. Explorers is all about embracing the laid-back, outdoors lifestyle of Marataba. Spend your days immersed in our stimulating safari and conservation activities, and swim, hike and adventure through the gorges and mountains. Then, return to camp, kick off your shoes, and come nose to trunk with the elephants as they gather at the waterhole in front of the deck. The six tents are set in shady grounds, complete with a swimming pool, and make an ideal base for families and groups looking for a fun and flexible safari experience.

BALANCING TOURISM WITH NATURE

INVOLVEMENT IN CONSERVATION

All guests at Marataba are allocated a private vehicle and dedicated guide for maximum flexibility throughout a stay. Activities can be chosen on a ‘mix and match’ basis for a fully tailor-made itinerary, from day & night game drives, river cruises, walking safaris and river swimming, to learning about conservation and having fun at your own pace.

If South Africa’s wild places are to exist for future generations, we need people from all over the world to get involved in our efforts.
